First Day / Week 1

By first opening the door, I noticed that there was not much interaction between my classmates that had made it into the room before myself. Fortunately the awkward silence did not last long as we were all instructed to roam freely through out the room and interact with our fellow classmates. From there on there was a certain comfort level which allowed us to work with more of a group dynamic. As the class progressed I felt free to add my input to what was being discussed. By the time we had begun the interviewing process it was clear that the class was in full swing. The activities we had been participating in made for a much more productive environment as I felt slightly more familiar with everyone.
Once we got past preliminary introductions and "breaking the ice" everything seemed to flow seamlessly. By delving further into what communications as a whole really entails I learned the many depths of what goes into every human interaction. A primary example of this would be learning that communication, preformed and participated, involves understanding each other clearly. This process consists of both giving and receiving information. Although I was aware of this concept prior to taking this class, some light has been shed on the different ways communication is literally viewed. Body language is something that I have learned carries a lot more weight in communication than I had imagined. I will be taking all of this into account in my upcoming oral presentation as well as not letting "F.E.A.R." inhibit me from excelling at it.
