First day of class

The first day of class was much better then I expected. First, given that the class was 7 1/2 hours I figure it would be complete torture. The minute the professor walked in making funny remarks I thought "thank god, he's not boring". Our first exercise was introducing ourselves to as many classmates in 5 minutes. After those 5 minutes were up there was a lot more chatter and laughter going on, since everyone was noticeable more comfortable with one another.
For our 2nd exercise, we had to pair up with another classmate interview them, then later introduce our partner to the class and vice versa. While our partner introduced us, we had to remain eye contact with the audience, which was very hard for a lot of us to do. My secret in being able to look at everyone is that I have horrible eyesight, so I can't clearly see everyone facial expression that actually made it a thousand time better hahaha.
We also learned during our communication course that there's a 4 letter word that starts with F that many of us are afraid to say because that's how we feel. But it wasn't the word many of us were thinking. The word was fear, which I completely agree with because at times we say things wondering what others think about your comment or we're afraid to speak up because we're afraid about what others might think, say or do when we say it. I think this course will help us ALL improve our communication skills that will help benefit us in our future goals.
I also said "Good morning" to the people I was in the elevator with this morning on my way to work, some smiled and said it back, others gave me that "I think she is crazy" look. But it actually made my day because I did something that caused me to step out of my comfort zone.
